VICTORIA NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Since 2015, we have been piloting innovative initiatives in Vancouver, promoting social and economic inclusion while increasing waste diversion.
From February – May 2019 Binners' Project conducted a 4-month needs assessment in Victoria to learn more about the most pressing needs that recyclers have. This was a grassroots, action-focused assessment encompassing small-scale testing.
We discovered there is an eager group of binners and volunteers who are ready to continue with a project of their own to improve the economic opportunities for local binners. The team of volunteers on the ground is currently working on finalizing how this project will move forward now that the needs assessment is complete.

I’m doing everything I can to help bring an initiative like Binners' Project here in Victoria. It’s waste reduction, economic inclusion, and empowerment – all in one.
